Rod Stewart was fabulous!
Let me start by saying that it had been quite some time since I had the pleasure of watching Rod Stewart perform. Thrilled I was to see him in a relatively intimate setting, merely 15 rows from the stage on the left. His performance of all the classic rock and roll hits was a delight—this business of songbook tunes is not my cup of tea, he's a rocker through and through! One of the Frank Sinatra tunes did make an appearance, though.
The light show featured impressive graphics, and the high definition camera capturing Rod's every move projected on a massive screen was a neat touch.
A minor disappointment was when he returned for an encore, bringing a group of people on stage who surrounded him. After they exited, Gladys Knight had already left, and with the curtain closing abruptly, we were deprived of a proper farewell. Quite an unusual way to conclude the concert.
At one point during the show, Rod even invited his children to join him on stage for a dance, adding a charming touch to the performance. They certainly brought a smile to everyone's faces with their adorable presence.
